On the obverse, frontal cuirassed bust of Theodosius II with a helmet and a diadem of pearls, with a spear on his right shoulder and, on his left, a shield decorated with a biga. Surrounding the emperor, the legend D(ominus) N(oster) THEODOSIVS P(ius) F(elix) AVG(ustus) and a very deteriorated beaded rim. On the reverse, Victoria, winged, with a long cross in her right hand. Surrounding the figure, the legend VOT(is) XX MVLT(is) XXX and a very deteriorated beaded rim. On the exergue, CON(stantinopoli) OB(ryzum), i.e. minted in Constantinople and made from pure gold.
