In modern art, urban landscapes are a substantial part of the artistic scene creating a landscape with traditional roots that wants to capture the natural environment. Painters are attracted to smaller towns that retain the charm of the past. In the case of Mediterranean populations, the impact of light on white walls offers immense chromatic possibilities.

Pau Roig was a disciple of Francesc Torrecassana. In 1901 he went to Paris, where he became a well-known book illustrator and carried out an important work as an engraver within the landscape theme.

In its final stage, it presents us with a street view of its native town, Premià de Mar.
