The landscape depicts a small forest, a path, a row of trees, some farmland and a mountain ridge. The composition is divided into two parts, the lower half with the road and vegetation and the upper half with the cloudy sky. In his pictorial language, the painter of this period moves away from the most abstract color stain to focus on the tones specific to the changes in light.
This work belongs to the Vallès period, when Joaquim Mir resided in various towns in this region, between 1914 and 1922. He lived in Montornès del Vallès in 1916.

We know from historical documentation, old photographs in which, in front of the signature in the lower central part, the dedication “To my friend Pere Casas” could be read. Dedication that when the piece was auctioned in 2004, it no longer existed.
