Long pendulum clock with recoil escapement mechanisms and chimes on the hours and quarters and three driving weights. English dial face, made from a square iron sheet. Iron hands and brass disc with signature. The hour disc is made from enamel and the hours are painted.
Inscription: “Anton Ratera Igualada 31”. The Ratera family from Igualada were closely related with the firearms industry. Antoni Ratera i Bou learnt the trade from his father and, on his marriage certificate from the year 1791, written in Latin, he is referred to as Juvenem horologiorum fabricum, young clockmaker.
