He was a disciple of Ramon Martí Alsina, developing the rural landscape genre typical of the school of costumbrismo and realism. Fundamentally considered a landscape artist, he created both portraits and historical and genre paintings. A painter of landscapes and naturalistic works with historical and allegorical themes, evocative for their idealism, with epic nuances, like this large format painting with references to rural work.
